Leagues

The North End Curling Club is currently running leagues year round. From October to April, we run leagues out of Steriti Memorial Rink in Boston's North End. We currently run leagues here on Sunday and Thursday nights. Both are competitive leagues. From May to September, we run a league at Somerville's Veterans Memorial Rink. This league is on a Sunday night.

League details:

  • Brooms and all other equipment needed for curling are included.
  • All curlers help set up the ice for curling. This typically takes 15 minutes.
  • If you need accessibility assistance then let us know and we will ensure we can accommodate you. The arena is wheelchair accessible and we have delivery sticks for members who prefer not to deliver using the lunge method.
  • Typically after each event we’ll head out to a local restaurant. This is currently Ward 8 when curling in the North End or Aeronaut Brewing when in Somerville. This post curling event is called broomstacking and it is tradition for the winning team to buy the first round of drinks (including mocktails). Sportsmanship and team traditions like these are important foundations of the club and curling worldwide.

Signups for all leagues open throughout the year, with preference given to club members based on their standing. Club members also include those that register for the social membership here. If you are interested, please sign up for the Prospective Members Interest List to be notified when sign ups occur.
